The Best WordPress Presentations and Articles

The panel discussion from WordCamp San Antonio 2017.

One of our favorite things about WordPress is the spirit of volunteerism shared by its users. If you’ve spent any amount of time searching the web for WordPress resources, you know that free resources are available to help you with just about every part of creating a WordPress site.

We asked two of our trusted partners to share the best WordPress presentation, article or other resources they’ve encountered in the past year. Their responses shine a light on some of the best resources available to WordPress site owners and developers. We hope you enjoy their picks!

One of my favorite talks was given at WordCamp San Antonio 2016 by Isaac Castillo. He covered quite a few tips and tricks for WordPress security and made the information simple enough that anyone would understand how to tackle the task. It’s a topic everyone should know about, but most people avoid.

Many forums or support boards make these necessary steps seem endless and overly time-consuming, not to mention the anxiety that ensues when they mention the potential of crashing your site while attempting to complete the steps. The talk was very informative, he gave fantastic advice and listed references from trusted sources in the WordPress development community.

I’ve mentioned before that I’ve never found a one-stop-shop for every WordPress resource. That doesn’t mean, however, that great resources don’t exist.

As a developer, I like to see what others are doing with WordPress. I recently came across an article on Create Blog that piqued my interest. The article covers 25 tutorials for designers. One of the things I love about this article is that it has something for everybody.

I also recently enjoyed an article on Creative Blog that showcases several examples of WordPress in action. This kind of resource can help inspire pros and novices alike. Take a look and see if you’re not inspired!
