This is the second part of our Meet the Team series. Darrell, a Texas transplant, is another member of our awesome Support team. What makes him tick? What’s his perfect Sunday? What’s the craziest thing to happen to him while on the job? Let’s find out!
Where do you work? (The Pressable team is remote.)
Austin, Texas, since 2010. Before coming here, New York City and Philadelphia.
How long have you Worked for Pressable?
Since December, 2016.
What’s your favorite part about working for Pressable?
I enjoy the opportunity and flexibility that Pressable offers. We are encouraged to explore our own talents, and the company takes steps to encourage our personal and professional development. Pressable also insists on supporting a healthy work/life balance.
What’s the craziest, most impactful, or most exciting support ticket you’ve ever serviced?
I can’t recall anything particularly crazy, but I generally enjoy interacting with our customers. It’s a good feeling when a frantic customer contacts you, and you’re able to quickly correct the issue and relieve their panic. Our customers are so grateful for the support we provide. I love that part of my job.
When you’re not pressing at Pressable, what are you doing?
I’ll most likely be on the couch watching Golden Girls. If I’m not there, I’m spending time with the dog or friends.
If you had the power to change one thing to make the world a better place, what would it be?
I suppose if I had the power to change anything, it would be to remove fear and judgement from the human psyche. Humans’ fear of people different from them keeps them from properly understanding each other, and prevents them from truly accepting one another for what we are–human.
If you could work remotely from anywhere in the world, where would it be?
A private beach with a cool breeze and an even cooler drink.
What is your favorite way to listen to music, Pandora or Spotify? What is your favorite station/playlist?
Spotify, usually, but I tend to listen to the TV in the background while I work.
Mac or PC?
Favorite support hack tool?
Do you have a life hack or piece of advice/tip/trick for being a remote worker?
I setup my office in the study, and I don’t come in here when I’m not working. This room is for work only.
