Roger, Pressable’s migrating support guru, is a night owl that’s recently started working the third shift for our five-star support team. Let’s take a look and see what a day…err…night in Roger’s world looks like.
What is your role at Pressable?
I try to keep customers happy by answering questions, fixing site issues, and moving as many websites onto our platform as possible.
Where are you located?
Southern Arizona in the winter, Colorado in the summer, and various places in between.
How long have you worked at Pressable?
Since August, 2018.
First shift, second shift, third shift preference?
Currently I am covering third shift hours. At first it was out of necessity so that we can offer 24/7 support coverage for our customers, but a funny thing happened a few weeks in: I kind of prefer working at night. I have always been a night owl so staying up late is no problem. In addition to that I now have the weekdays to get things done while everyone else is at work. I also have the daytime to get outside and exercise. Currently that includes a bodyweight routine at the local park and riding my bike around town.
What were you doing at 8:57 a.m. Tuesday this week?
What were you doing at 3:28 p.m. Friday this week?
Walking back from the grocery store listening to an audiobook on the history of modern China.
What is your best work-life balance tip?
Find a routine that involves exercise and healthy eating. Then find a challenge at work that drives you to get better. The first two will allow you to focus much more easily and the third one makes the regular work tasks that much easier to get through.
If you could describe what a day in the life is like for you in one word, what would it be?
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
What is your biggest goal in how you impact the team and our customers at Pressable?
