Strategies for Getting Backlinks to a Brand New Website (Part 2)

Person holding phone with backlinks on the screen.

In part one of our series, we looked at two different strategies for obtaining more backlinks to your website. This week, we’re going to look at three new strategies that can help improve backlinks, the quality of backlinks, and the quality of traffic your site receives from them.

Infographics are one of the most successful ways to get tons of traffic to your site and relevant backlinks. They are super interesting because they are easy to understand and share. Everyone loves visual data; therefore, there is a high demand for infographics.

Considering that, Hubspot produced lots of infographics that have brought them with a ton of backlinks. They have in-house designer who designs the infographics, but if you don’t have your own designer you can hire one through Upwork or Fiverr.

The hardest part of infographic creation is to think about a topic that goes well with the infographics, and then make the copy and graphics that you want to include in them. You must carefully choose your data. Each must have a unique and interesting story for your audience. To get the best out of it, you can follow the latest trends and see what people are looking for. Then create your infographic with statistical data.

To get started building your own infographics, check out these 15 free infographic templates from Hubspot.

To get started,

First, you need to research and collect data for the content. Second, you must find someone who makes your content visible. An ace designer will take a lot of weight off your shoulders. Just talk about a topic, create the content, and let the designer start their spell.

Lastly, do not forget to include an embedded code on the bottom of your infographics. That way people from other websites can easily upload your infographic and place it on their website.

Infographics are useful in multiple ways. Even if you don’t get the backlinks, you get some visibility of your brand on the web if you put your logo in the infographics.

Guest Blogging

This is one of my personal favorites to earn backlinks and exposure. Guest blogging can be free or paid. If you have not written for other blogs yet, I would recommend hiring a ghostwriter. A quality article with at least 2,000 words would cost you between $ 100 and $ 500.

When you publish articles on other popular sites, you will get your content in front of millions of new readers. Sometimes it’s not just about getting backlinks; it’s about strengthening your online presence or the number of social media followers you have.

Guest posting on authority websites helps you build relationships and expand your audience base. You can find numerous websites that accept guest posts using Google search queries below:

  • your keyword + inurl:write-for-us
  • your keyword + guest-post
  • your keyword + become a contributor
  • your keyword + inurl:guest-post-guidelines
  • your keyword + submit an article
  • your keyword + write for us
  • your keyword + contribute to the site
  • your keyword + become an author
  • your keyword + now accepting guest posts

While writing any guest post articles, do not put dozens of links back to your website. Stay reasonable with 1 to 3 links for 2,000 words and make sure the blog owner agrees. If not, you may want to publish your content to another place. I think it’s a fair compensation if you give them high-quality content in exchange for links.

While writing a bio for websites, make sure you use it wisely. Keep it clear and to the point. Tell the readers who you are, what you do, and what value you bring to their audience. Lastly, a link back to your site.

Promote Your Content

High-quality content will not get you backlinks if you don’t know how to promote it properly. To promote your quality content, you need to get out of the way and start outreaching to the experts for the roundup posts.

One of the best approaches for doing this is by contacting bloggers or websites that offer weekly or monthly roundup posts. Again, you can use Google search queries like “keyword + roundup posts”. Make sure you only filter the results for the last week or the last month.

Then contact the webmasters and give them a short introduction to their website. Send a link to one of your best articles with your customized message. If they find your resource useful, they will link it to their next roundup posts. These bloggers are always on the lookout for quality content and want to hear from you.

You can use a simple pitch to reach out to the bloggers below:

Keyword + Link Roundup

Keyword + This Week

Step 2: Pitch Them

Hi, [site owner name]

I just stumbled on your {roundup name} this afternoon. Good Stuff!

I am just reaching out because I recently published a {content description} that might be a good fit. {your Url}

Either Way, keep up the awesome work 🙂

Cheers

As like other methods mentioned above, be careful not to ruin your relationship with a webmaster by requesting a link directly.

Earning backlinks can be quite challenging and backlinks campaigns like any other digital campaigns need to be well planned and effectively implemented. Lookout for the methods above and develop a plan that fits your business, industry and your program. Thank you for reading this article and let me know if you have any in the comments section below.
