You can migrate from a number of different platforms to Pressable. This guide will walk you through some of the most common platforms.
If you are a WordPress.com user and are interested in migrating a WordPress site to a self-hosted option it’s easy to do.
Log into your WordPress.com website and navigate to Tools > Export
Choose the content you wish to import to your new website. Your options include:
- All content
- Posts – filter by category, author, date range or post status
- Pages – filter by author, date range or status
- and more
When you’re happy select “download export file”. The XML file will download.
Open your new WordPress website and navigate to Tools > Import.
You’ll be given a list of available importers. Select the WordPress importer. Install the plugin. Click Activate & Run Importer.
Select the file that you downloaded from WordPress.com. Click Upload File and Import.
You will be asked if you wish to import the author or to assign to an existing user.
You can also choose to download and import file attachments. When you’re happy click Submit.
Log in to WordPress and navigate to Tools > Import.
Select Blogger and install the importer. When it is installed click “Activate Plugin & Run Importer”.
Click the “Authorize” button. This will give WordPress access to your blogger account.
You will be redirected to Google where you will be asked if you want to give WordPress access to your account. If you’re happy click “Grant Access”.
You’ll be given a list of the blogs which you can import. Select the one you want and click “Import”.
