## How Spotzer Digital Resolved a 45-Site Incident Using Pressable MCP

*Spotzer Digital is a white-label digital solutions company with offices in Amsterdam, Australia, and Manila that builds and manages WordPress sites at scale for enterprise partners including Orange, KPN, and Telstra, operating across 30+ countries. When a plugin vulnerability resulted in 45 compromised sites, the WordPress team quickly identified the issue and used Pressable MCP with Claude to build a structured cleanup workflow that handled the heavy lifting automatically: scanning for injections, removing malware, updating and reinstalling plugins and themes, and reinstalling WordPress core across every affected site. What previously would have taken months of manual work was resolved in a matter of days.*

## **The Challenge: 45 Sites, One Small Team**

[Spotzer Digital](https://spotzerdigital.com/) is a white-label digital solutions company with offices in Amsterdam, Australia, and Manila that builds and manages WordPress sites at scale for enterprise partners including Orange, KPN, and Telstra, operating across 30+ countries. What previously would have taken months of manual work was resolved in a matter of days.

## **The Solution: Pressable MCP as the Response Layer**

Before MCP, the team’s standard approach to automating site work was writing shell scripts, testing them manually, and running them one site at a time. For an incident at this scale, that process would have been months of work.

Instead, Spotzer’s WordPress team lead used Pressable MCP with Claude to build a structured cleanup workflow. Starting by identifying which of the 175 sites running the affected plugin were actually compromised, he worked through the remediation in batches: scanning for injections in both site files and the database, removing malware, deleting inactive and migration plugins, updating and reinstalling all plugins and themes, and reinstalling WordPress core. Claude executed each step through MCP, moving across sites in batches so results could be verified and anything needing manual follow-up could be caught before moving on.

Some steps remained manual: Elementor and Jetpack licenses had to be reinstalled one by one through their own dashboards, and suspicious admin accounts were removed by hand. But the volume of work MCP handled automatically made the difference between a contained response and a months-long recovery. “Without this tool this would have taken me much longer to resolve,” said Elijah Ignacio, the WordPress Team Lead for Spotzer Digital.

> “Had we not had the Pressable MCP connection, we would have had to put a lot more resources on it, and the resolution would have taken much longer.”

## ****Key wins with Pressable MCP:****

• **Automated remediation across 45 sites**: Claude handled the core cleanup sequence through MCP: scanning for injections in files and the database, removing malware, deleting inactive and migration plugins, updating and reinstalling plugins and themes, and reinstalling WordPress core.

• **One engineer, not a team**: The entire response was managed by a single WordPress developer, internal stress stayed low, and other work continued.

• **Batch processing across the portfolio**: They worked through sites in batches, verifying results as they went and using MCP to execute the same steps consistently across every affected property rather than repeating them by hand.

• **Proactive maintenance built from the incident**: The team is now building automated workflows using Pressable MCP with Claude to handle plugin updates and WordPress core updates on a regular schedule, reducing the manual resource needed.

• **Security posture improved portfolio-wide**: Jetpack and Jetpack Protect are now mandatory on every new Pressable site, a direct policy change that came out of what the incident surfaced.

## **The Business Impact**

The most direct result was a contained response. Forty-five sites were cleaned up and secured without a prolonged recovery period, without pulling the wider business in, and without clients or end customers being affected.

“If this happened back in the day, it would have been a lot more hands-on. There would have been a lot more stress across the whole business and a lot more stakeholders would have been involved. With Pressable MCP it felt like: we’ve got a plan, it’s running, it’s doing this so much faster than any of us could do manually. We’re good,” said Joshua.

For an operation managing white-label infrastructure for enterprise telecom clients across 30+ countries, having a repeatable incident response workflow matters. We can now achieve new more scalable levels of proactive maintenance automation. These enable us to more easily identify potential risks and implement improvements.

 > “Now we’re looking at how we can use Claude and Pressable MCP to automate plugin and WordPress core updates on an even more regular basis, without committing a lot of human resource to get it done, which will prevent this kind of situation from happening again.”
