Ready to add a new WordPress site to your Pressable account? The information below will walk you through a step-by-step process.

## Log in to the My.Pressable.com Dashboard

To begin, log in to the [MyPressable.com Dashboard](https://my.pressable.com):

If you run into trouble accessing your Pressable account, you can [reset your password](https://my.pressable.com/users/password/new) or [contact our Customer Success Team](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/how-to-get-support-with-pressable/) for assistance.

## Add a New Site

Once you’ve logged in to the MyPressable Dashboard you will find an **Add Site** button in both upper corners:

If you are both an account owner and an account-level collaborator with Create Site permissions on another account you’ll see an option to choose which account the new site belongs to.

![](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/createsite2.jpg?resize=1024%2C473&ssl=1)You can then choose whether it’s a live, [staging site](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/how-sites-staging-websites-and-website-clones-work-at-pressable/#staging-websites), [sandbox site](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/how-sandbox-sites-work-on-pressable/), or [DupliKit](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/duplikits-site-templates/) (template) site, followed by assigning the site a name, selecting a [data center location](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/where-are-pressable-data-centers-located/), selecting [the PHP version](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/differences-between-php-versions/).

Note: It’s strongly recommended that you use staging or sandbox sites for development work, as these site types include symlinked robots.txt files that disallow indexing.

Live sites can be indexed by search engines even if a domain is not assigned yet.

Important: The **Site Name** that you choose will impact the site’s staging URL. For example, if you choose `fresh-install` as the **Site Name**, the site’s staging URL will be **fresh-install.mystagingwebsite.com.**

This will not be shown publicly if [a domain is later added to the site](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/assigning-domain-pressable/#step-two-add-your-domain-at-pressable).

If you are a collaborator with permission to create sites for the account owner, you will see the account to which the newly created site is being added to –

If you are a user with your own Pressable plan and have been added to other accounts as a collaborator with permission to create sites (for the other account owner/s), you will see an option to select the account under which you will be creating the site. The default is set to your own account.

## New Site Details

Your new WordPress site will be ready to use in less than one minute!

![Screenshot of My.Pressable.com site listing showing details of a new website](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/site_details.jpg?resize=1024%2C288&ssl=1)

Check your inbox for an email from Pressable, which will contain the username and password you’ll need to access your new site’s WP Admin. Your new site will include a staging URL (ex: `fresh-install.mystagingwebsite.com`), which is a temporary web address that you can use as you build, modify and manage your site.

You will find your new site’s staging URL on the [My Sites](https://my.pressable.com/sites) page of the MyPressable.com Dashboard.

You can also see who created the site and when on the site’s settings page under the **Created On** and **Created By** sections, as seen below –

![site created on and site created by information](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/site-created-on-created-by.png?resize=1024%2C621&ssl=1)The Pressable API now includes the **site creator’s name and email** alongside site details. For sites created before creator tracking was introduced, this information will be empty rather than defaulting to the account owner. Connected AI assistants can also surface the site creator information.

## Create as Migration Placeholder

While creating a new site, there is a **Create a Destination for the Migration** option.

![](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/migratesite1.jpg?resize=1024%2C464&ssl=1)

This option indicates the intention to create a Pressable site specifically for migrating another site to.

Once the site becomes live, the listing updates to show **Migration Instructions Ready – Click here to start**:

Clicking the **Click here to start** link directs users to the [Migrate Site section](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/using-the-pressable-automated-migration-plugin/#obtain-migration-settings), outlining the remaining steps to get the site migrated over to Pressable. Refer to our [migration guide here](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/using-the-pressable-automated-migration-plugin) for more details.
