If you are [assigning a domain to your Pressable account](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/assigning-domain-pressable/) and want to know how to update your GoDaddy DNS records accordingly, we share three ways to do that:

- [Domain Setup Wizard](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/how-to-point-godaddy-dns-records-to-pressable/#domain-setup-wizard)
- [Nameserver Method](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/how-to-point-godaddy-dns-records-to-pressable/#pointing-godaddy-nameservers-to-pressable)
- [A Record Method](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/how-to-point-godaddy-dns-records-to-pressable/#pointing-godaddy-a-records-to-pressable)

**Please Note:** If you already have email hosting for your domain, we recommend using the [A Record Method](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/how-to-point-godaddy-dns-records-to-pressable/#pointing-godaddy-a-records-to-pressable).

**Alternatively:** If you’d like to manage DNS at Pressable, please get in touch with us **prior** **to** [changing the name servers](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/how-to-point-godaddy-dns-records-to-pressable/#pointing-godaddy-nameservers-to-pressable) to minimize/prevent any email downtime.

## Pointing GoDaddy A Records to Pressable

On your site’s control panel go to **Domains → Add Domains**. Under the **Manual DNS** tab you can find your site’s specific IP addresses. You’ll need this information for the next step, which takes place at GoDaddy.

Press the “DNS” button to the right of your domain name.

![Viewing your domain name with GoDaddy dashboard.](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/godaddy1-1-scaled.jpg?ssl=1)Locate your current DNS records, which will look similar to the following:

![GoDaddy DNS records dashboard.](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/godaddy2.jpg?ssl=1)Modify the existing A record, with the name of @, to point to one of your Pressable IPs.

[![GoDaddy A Records dashboard.](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/godaddy3.jpg?ssl=1)](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/godaddy3.png?ssl=1)

Click “Add”, and create another record where your host is “@”, your IP is “199.16.173.41” (for example), and TTL (time to live) is “1/2 Hour”:

![Editing your A record.](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/godaddy4.jpg?ssl=1)

Once saved, your records should look like this:

![This is what your dns records should look like.](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/godaddy5.jpg?ssl=1)

In some cases, the “www” record may be a separate A record, and not a CNAME record. In other words, rather than having “@” as its value, it will have an IP address; in our example, 199.16.172.147.

In this case, you can either remove the “www” record and create a CNAME (as above), or you can change the IP address and add a new one, similarly to what was done for the “@” record above. It may look something like this:

## Add Your Domain at Pressable

After you have updated the DNS settings at your registrar using one of the methods listed above, you will need to [add your domain to your Pressable site](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/assigning-domain-pressable/#step-two-add-your-domain-at-pressable). However, if you use the [Domain Setup Wizard](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/domain-setup-wizard/) option it will automatically add the domain for you.

## (Optional) Re-provision SSL Certificate

If you added your domain on the Pressable control panel before pointing it via DNS, you may need to re-provision the SSL certificate. You can do this from the **Domains** tab in your control panel by clicking **Actions ▼ → Retry SSL**.

## Yoast Indexables

If Yoast ([Yoast SEO](https://href.li/?https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/) or [Yoast SEO Premium](https://href.li/?https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/) plugins) is used on a website and a domain is added or changed (new site, cloned site, etc) without taking steps afterward, it can result in the staging domain or previous domain showing in search results. Please [follow the information here](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/yoast-indexables/) to ensure the proper domain is reflected within search results.
