- [Domain Setup Wizard](#domain-setup-wizard)
- [Nameserver Method](#pointing-register-com-nameservers-to-pressable)
- [A Record Method](#pointing-register-com-a-records-to-pressable)

**Please Note:** If you already have email hosting for your domain, we recommend using the [A Record Method.](#pointing-register-com-a-records-to-pressable)

**Alternatively:** If you’d like to manage DNS at Pressable, please get in touch with us **prior** **to** [changing the name servers](#pointing-register-com-nameservers-to-pressable) to minimize/prevent any email downtime.

## Domain Setup Wizard

Please Note: Pressable has a [Domain Setup Wizard](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/domain-setup-wizard/) option, which makes connecting your Register.com domain to your Pressable site a breeze! [Learn more here](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/domain-setup-wizard/).

You will need to then delete any other nameservers, and enter the Pressable nameservers in the provided fields:

- ns3.openhostingservice.com
- ns4.openhostingservice.com

and then press **Save** as shown below –

Once the Nameservers are updated, you can manage the DNS records of the domain with us.

## Pointing Register.com A Records to Pressable

Log into your Register.com account and navigate to the **Domains** tab.

Press the “Settings” button to the right of the domain you want to point to your Pressable site.

![Viewing your DNS settings in Register.com.](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/register-com-domain-settings.png?resize=1024%2C466&ssl=1)

Under the **Advanced Tools** section, click the “Manage” button next to the **Advanced DNS Records**.

Modify the existing A record/s, with the name of @, to point to one of your Pressable IPs.

In the Edit pop-up, replace the existing IP with your Pressable site IP and click “Edit” to confirm.

Click “+ Add Record”, and create another record where your host is “@” and points to your second Pressable site IP. Similarly, add a CNAME record for your “www” subdomain pointing to your domain as shown below:

![Adding CNAME records at register.com
](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/register-com-adding-cname.png?resize=1024%2C572&ssl=1)

Once saved, your records should look like this:

In some cases, the “www” record may be a separate A records, and not a CNAME record. In other words, rather than having the domain as its value, it will have IP addresses.

In this case, you can either remove the “www” record and create a CNAME (as above), or you can change the IP address and add a new one, similarly to what was done for the “@” record above. It may look something like this:

After you have updated the DNS settings at your registrar using one of the methods listed above, you will need to [add your domain to your Pressable site](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/assigning-domain-pressable/#step-two-add-your-domain-at-pressable). However, if you use the [Domain Setup Wizard](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/domain-setup-wizard/) option it will automatically add the domain for you.

## (Optional) Re-provision SSL Certificate

If you added your domain on the Pressable control panel before pointing it via DNS, you may need to re-provision the SSL certificate. You can do this from the `Domains` tab in your control panel by clicking `Actions ▼ → Retry SSL`.

![retry SSL](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/SSL-retry.png?resize=1024%2C341&ssl=1)For detailed steps, visit our [SSL Troubleshooting Guide](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/ssl-troubleshooting-for-common-ssl-issues/).

## Yoast Indexables

If Yoast ([Yoast SEO](https://href.li/?https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/) or [Yoast SEO Premium](https://href.li/?https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/) plugins) is used on a website and a domain is added or changed (new site, cloned site, etc) without taking steps afterward, it can result in the staging domain or previous domain showing in search results. Please [follow the information here](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/yoast-indexables/) to ensure the proper domain is reflected within search results.
