If you are [assigning a domain to your Pressable account](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/assigning-domain-pressable/) and want to know how to update your WordPress.com DNS records accordingly, please see the instructions below.

Please note, that as Pressable and WordPress.com share our server infrastructure, there are two TXT records that must be added in the WordPress.com DNS editor **BEFORE** the Nameservers/A Records are changed. This is explained in the sections below.

## Domain Setup Wizard

Please Note: Pressable has a [Domain Setup Wizard](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/domain-setup-wizard/) option, which makes connecting your WordPress.com domain to your Pressable site a breeze! [Learn more here](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/domain-setup-wizard/).

## Pointing WordPress.com Nameservers to Pressable

Log into your WordPress.com account and navigate to **Manage → Domains**:

![Pressable domains dashboard.](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/wordpress-navigation-domains.png?ssl=1)

To the right of the domain name, click on the three dots and select **Name servers**:

![Edit your domain settings in Pressable.](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/wordpress-navigation.png?ssl=1)

Select the link **DNS records:**

Due to our shared infrastructure with WordPress.com, you will need to enter two TXT records **BEFORE** changing the Nameservers/A Records.

To obtain these, first [add your domain](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/assigning-domain-pressable/#step-two:-add-your-domain-at-pressable) to this Pressable installation. Then select the **Manage Records** option from the **Actions** dropdown menu right of the domain to reveal the default DNS settings. Click on the TXT records to copy their values.

Please note there is one TXT record for the www version of the domain, and one TXT record for the non-www version. Both are mandatory.

Add these TXT records to your DNS settings at WordPress.com

Next, disable the **Use WordPress.com Name Servers** option.

Update the nameservers to Pressable’s:

- `ns1.openhostingservice.com`
- `ns2.openhostingservice.com`
- `ns3.openhostingservice.com`
- `ns4.openhostingservice.com`

Select **Save Custom Name Servers**:

## (Optional) Re-provision SSL Certificate

If you added your domain on the Pressable control panel before pointing it via DNS, you may need to re-provision the SSL certificate. You can do this from the `Domains` tab in your control panel by clicking `Actions ▼ → Retry SSL`.

![retry SSL](https://i0.wp.com/pressable.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/SSL-retry.png?resize=1024%2C341&ssl=1)For detailed steps, visit our [SSL Troubleshooting Guide](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/ssl-troubleshooting-for-common-ssl-issues/)

## Yoast Indexables

If Yoast ([Yoast SEO](https://href.li/?https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/) or [Yoast SEO Premium](https://href.li/?https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/) plugins) is used on a website and a domain is added or changed (new site, cloned site, etc) without taking steps afterward, it can result in the staging domain or previous domain showing in search results. Please [follow the information here](https://pressable.com/knowledgebase/yoast-indexables/) to ensure the proper domain is reflected within search results.
