Pressable MCP Just Got a Lot More Powerful

When we launched Pressable MCP earlier this year, the core idea was simple: stop switching between your AI tools and your hosting dashboard. Ask for what you need, and your AI assistant handles it.

That first release covered a lot of the day-to-day work. Create sites. Update PHP. Manage domains and collaborators. Audit your entire portfolio in a single prompt. For agencies and developers already working in Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini CLI, it changed how hosting management felt.

But there was still a category of tasks that pulled you out of the flow: the hands-on operational work. Clearing a cache before a launch. Pulling a backup before a deployment. Running a WP-CLI command. Checking an SSL certificate. Useful, routine tasks – but ones that still meant stopping what you were doing and opening a dashboard. That gap is now closed.

What You Can Do Now

Pressable MCP has expanded significantly since launch. Here’s what you can hand off to your AI assistant today that you couldn’t before.

Caching

Clear edge, object, or CDN cache for any site – or toggle defensive mode on and off. Before a launch, after a deployment, or when troubleshooting a performance issue, you no longer have to touch a settings page.

Backups

List available file and database backups for any site and get a download link for the one you need. Confirm your restore points before a risky deployment, or grab a specific backup for a client – all through a single prompt.

WP-CLI and shell commands

Run WP-CLI commands on individual sites, or the same command across multiple sites at once. Update all plugins across your entire client portfolio in one shot. Run a database search-replace. Trigger a cache flush. Anything you’d normally SSH in to do, you can now ask your AI assistant to handle.

Environment transfer

Copy files and database between environments, or refresh a site’s plugin and theme list with what’s actually installed. Useful when staging has drifted or after a manual change.

WordPress admin

Reset owner or user passwords, get a phpMyAdmin link for a quick database check – without navigating through the dashboard.

SSL

Check certificate status on any domain and retry issuance if it stalled. Useful during client onboarding or when a browser warning gets reported.

Site organization

Tag sites, leave notes, and mark favorites for yourself or a collaborator. For agencies managing large portfolios, this makes the sites you work on most a lot faster to find.

Access management

Disconnect an active SSH session or toggle the WordPress MCP connection on or off for a specific site.

What This Looks Like in Practice

Before a sale event or campaign launch

“Clear all cache for shop.mystore.com, then show me the most recent file and database backups with download links.”

→ Cache cleared, backup inventory confirmed, download links ready – in one turn.

Bulk plugin maintenance across a client portfolio

“Run ‘wp plugin update –all’ across all my live client sites and show me which ones completed successfully.”

→ Every site updated, results logged – without SSH-ing into a single one.

Pre-deployment backup check

“List the last three database backups for client-acme.com and give me a download link for the most recent one.”

→ Backup confirmed and accessible before the deployment goes out.

SSL certificate triage

“Check the SSL certificate status for all domains on client-site.com and retry issuance on any that show an error.”

→ Certificate issues surfaced and addressed without leaving your editor.

Staging drift cleanup

“Resync the plugin and theme list on client-acme-staging to match what’s installed, then copy the production database to staging.”

→ Staging environment back in sync, ready for testing.
