DupliKits Site Templates

Last modified: November 7, 2025

Overview

DupliKits are reusable template sites that allow you to deploy new WordPress sites instantly with your preferred themes, plugins, and settings preconfigured. This feature is particularly useful for agencies, development teams, and anyone who regularly creates similar site configurations.

Accessing DupliKits

DupliKits have their own dedicated section in the Pressable dashboard. You’ll find the DupliKits menu item in the left sidebar, located directly beneath the Sites menu.

Creating a DupliKit Template

Method 1: Create a New DupliKit Site

You can create a new DupliKit template using the same process as creating a standard site:

  1. Click Add Site
  2. Select Create New Site
  3. Choose DupliKits Site

Method 2: Convert an Existing Sandbox Site

If you have an existing sandbox site that you’d like to use as a template, you can convert it to a DupliKit:

  1. Navigate to the sandbox site
  2. Access the site settings
  3. Select the option to convert to a DupliKit

Note: Only sandbox sites can be converted to DupliKits.

Deploying Sites from a DupliKit Template

Once you’ve created a DupliKit template, you can deploy clones from it. Each clone will be a new, independent site with all the configurations from your template.

To deploy a new site:

  1. Go to DupliKits in the dashboard
  2. Select the template site you want to use
  3. Click Site Actions
  4. Choose Clone Site

This process creates a new site based on your template’s configuration, including all themes, plugins, settings, and content.

Managing Collaborators for DupliKits

DupliKits are maintained separately from your standard Sites list. Because they function as templates rather than regular sites, they don’t appear in the standard Collaborators section and cannot have collaborators added through the usual interface.

Adding Collaborators to a DupliKit

Account owners can add collaborators to DupliKit templates:

  1. Navigate to DupliKits
  2. Select the template site
  3. Go to Connections
  4. Click Add Collaborator

Collaborators added this way will have access to clone the template and manage its settings. This is useful for allowing team members to deploy sites from your approved templates without giving them access to modify the template itself (depending on their permission level).

Best Practices

  • Keep templates updated: Regularly review and update your DupliKit templates to ensure they include the latest plugin versions and security patches.
  • Test before cloning: Make changes to your template in a controlled manner and verify everything works as expected before deploying multiple clones.
  • Name templates clearly: Use descriptive names for your templates so team members can easily identify which template to use for different project types.
  • Document customizations: Keep notes about any special configurations in your templates to help collaborators understand what’s included.

Common Use Cases

  • Client sites: Create a standardized starting point for all client projects
  • Development workflows: Maintain separate templates for different project types or client tiers
  • Staging environments: Quickly spin up testing environments with production-like configurations
