Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and Passkeys in MyPressable

Last modified: January 13, 2026

Enable 2FA

To ensure the security of your Pressable account, Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is used to protect your My Pressable Control Panel. With MyPressable two-factor authentication enabled, you need a code from your authentication app, email, or passkey to authenticate the login.

The authenticator app option is the most secure method and is what we recommend. Before proceeding, please install an authentication application on your phone, such as Google Authenticator or Authy. Those applications are available for both Android and iOS.

Navigate to the Security settings by clicking on your profile image, then Settings, then Security in the bottom left corner, or this link here: https://my.pressable.com/settings/security:

On the Settings > Security page, you will see the Two-Factor Authentication section. You can now choose the option of App or Email:

App 2FA Option

Using an app is the most secure and recommend option for 2FA. Apps like Google Authenticator and Authy can be used across any website that supports app based 2FA.

Once you click on the Activate button for the App-based 2FA, you will see a setup option. Scan the provided QR code with your device and follow the prompts to configure it:

App 2FA setup

The authentication application should then add a profile for the barcode you scanned with a code. Enter this code into the field provided for the Confirmation Code. Then click on the Verify button.

Email 2FA Option

Once you click on the Activate button for the Email-based 2FA, you will see a screen to enter the code sent via email.

Please note that Email is the least secure primary 2FA option. When possible, a Passkey or a 2FA app should be used. If you choose Email 2FA, you can only use the email address associated with your Pressable account.

The code will automatically be sent to the email associated with your Pressable account.

You can now enter the code and click on Verify to complete the set up and to log in to your account.

Recovery Codes

Recovery codes provide a secure backup method to access your account if you are ever unable to complete a Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) challenge — for example, if you lose access to your authentication app or device. Each recovery code can be used once and helps ensure you can always regain access to your account safely.

You will see a screen like this upon first login after 2FA is set up for your account. You will be directed to a page where you can view, copy, or download your codes. If you skip this step, you will not be able to retrieve them later.

2FA recovery codes

We strongly recommend storing them in a secure location, such as a password manager.

How to Use Recovery Codes

Recovery codes are a set of one-time-use codes automatically generated for your account when you first log in after 2FA is enabled. These codes act as an alternative verification method if you cannot use your primary 2FA device.
If you are locked out during a 2FA prompt:

  • On the 2FA challenge screen, enter one of your unused recovery codes.
  • If the code is valid and unused, you will be logged in successfully.
  • If a code has already been used, the system will not accept it. Each code only works one time.

If you lose your recovery codes or believe they may be compromised, you can have them reset by contacting the Pressable Support Team. When recovery codes are reset, all existing codes are deleted, and new codes will be generated automatically the next time you log in.

Disable 2FA

The 2FA feature can be disabled from the same location on the https://my.pressable.com/settings/security page by choosing the Disable button option. For security, you will be prompted to enter your account password to confirm this action.

Disabling 2FA

Using Passkeys with Two-Factor Authentication

Passkeys allow you to sign in to your Pressable account using device-based authentication such as Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a hardware security key. This removes the need for passwords or one-time codes.

Passkeys require Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to be enabled before they can be set up.

Setting Up a Passkey

Before you begin, ensure 2FA is enabled on your account.

  1. Log in to MyPressable.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Security.
  3. Select Passkeys from the left-hand menu.
  4. Click Add passkey. Follow the on-screen prompts to authenticate using your device.
  5. You can now see the added passkey and can enter a name for the passkey to help identify it later.

Once complete, the passkey will be available for use on supported devices and browsers.

Logging In with a Passkey

After a passkey is added, you can use it to log in in either of the following ways:

  • On the login page, select Log in with passkey, then authenticate using your device.
  • If you log in using your email and password, you will be taken to the 2FA challenge screen. From there, select Log in with passkey to complete authentication.
  • Using a passkey bypasses app, SMS, or email-based 2FA challenges.

Managing Passkeys

You can manage passkeys from Settings > Security > Passkeys.

From this page, you can:

  • Add new passkeys
  • View existing passkeys
  • Rename passkeys
  • Remove passkeys you no longer use

If all passkeys are removed, you can continue signing in using your email, password, and configured 2FA method.
