Understanding Staging Site Linking
Through your My Pressable Control Panel, you can add a new website, clone a website, and create a staging website. In the article, How Sites, Staging Websites, and Website Clones Work at Pressable, we will explain the differences between these three actions.
When you create a staging site in Pressable, it is automatically linked to its corresponding production site if it was created using the Clone to Staging option. This link allows the staging site to appear in the staging dropdown menu for easy access as shown below.

However, if a staging site was created independently and not cloned from a production site, it will not be linked in the dropdown. Currently, there is no built-in option to manually associate an existing staging site with a production site.
Push or Sync Changes
When you use the Clone to Staging feature, the system creates a separate, independent copy of the production site. Regardless of whether a site was cloned and linked or created separately, you can push or sync changes between any two sites using the Manage Data section in your control panel.
Managing Staging Sites
- Create a Staging Site via Cloning:
If you prefer or want your staging sites to appear in the dropdown, clone the production site to a new staging site to establish the link and see it on the dropdown from the site’s settings page. - Use the Manage Data Section:
You can push or restore data between any two sites even if they are not created as a clone and linked. - Understanding Site Organization:
Pressable’s system provides flexibility, and understanding how sites are structured can help users make the most of its features.
Future Enhancements
We recognize that you may want to manually link an existing staging site to a production site. This feature is being considered for future platform improvements. If this functionality is critical to your workflow, please share your feedback with our support team.
