Rather than go through the process of migrating a Pressable site to another Pressable account, whether it’s live or not, you can simply transfer it to another Pressable account!
Sites can be transferred from one My.Pressable.com account to another in two ways:
During a site transfer, no changes are made to the site instance itself. All posts, pages, users, and other existing content and elements before the transfer will remain the same after the transfer is completed. All original collaborators attached to the site are also kept in place.
Automated Site Transfers
The automated site transfer feature is only available to account owners and collaborators who have the Delete Site collaborator permission.
Automated site transfers are not instantaneous. The recipient’s email address must accept the site transfer request before the transfer is completed. Until acceptance, the site remains under the control of the original owner.
Only the account and account owner to which the site transfer request has been sent can approve the transfer. This is crucial as site transfers involve billing changes, and the transfer section is part of the account owner’s settings, which are only accessible to them.
Initiating a Site Transfer
Automated transfers are not possible for sites that have a Titan Mail subscription or that are using our Plugin Management feature. Both options must be canceled for the site before the transfer or it will fail. Titan Mail emails are kept for up to 30 days after account cancelation, so as long as cancelation and re-setup of Titan Mail happens within that timeframe, there should be no issues. Please contact Titan Mail support to request the emails be restored into the same domain’s new account.
To initiate the transfer, navigate to the site in the My.Pressable.com Dashboard, then go to Site Actions -> Transfer Site:

The current site owner or collaborator must use the email address of the account they intend to transfer the site to and must also provide their own account password.
Accepting a Site Transfer
The email address to which the transfer was initiated will receive information in their My.Pressable.com Dashboard under the Settings -> Transfers section (https://my.pressable.com/settings/transfers):

This Transfers section provides the receiving account owner the option to either accept or reject the transfer, provided their account is in good standing. If their account status is otherwise, they will be presented with different options accordingly:
When the account is ready to receive the new site
When the account has an active plan with space to receive the new site, the transfer acceptance request will be shown like this:

When the account exists but does not an active plan, the transfer acceptance request will be shown like this:

When the account does not have space within its current plan
When the account exists but does not have space for another site within its current plan, the transfer acceptance request will be shown like this:

When transferring to a new account
Customers who are creating new accounts must sign up using the same email address to which the site transfer request was sent. If they register with a different email address, the original site transfer request will need to be canceled by the sender and resent to the appropriate email address.

Site Transfer Logs
Activity logs for Automated Site Transfers are created at both the Account and Site levels to document the transactions involved in site transfers:

Activity logs are not available for Manual Site Transfers.
Manual Site Transfers
If you are hosting a website within your Pressable account but need to transfer that site to a separate account let our support team know! We can make transferring a site both quick and easy. However, we need two things in order to authorize the move:
- We need an email from you requesting that move, and the email must come directly from the Pressable account owner’s email address.
- We need a second email from the new Pressable account owner’s email that will be receiving the site.
Those requests can be sent to help@pressable.com. Once we have approval from both sides we can transfer the site to the new Pressable account!
Post-Transfer Actions
The site itself will transfer under the new account, but may still be visible under the old account if that account is a Collaborator user.
Once a transfer is completed, the new account owner should review the Site Collaborators and remove or edit Collaborators and permissions, as needed.
